When you were a child, did you ever have a lemonade stand? You know, your Mom let you setup a table out by the street where you could make up a pitcher of cold lemonade to sell to passersby. Of course, your neighbors would see you out there and, respecting your initiative, they would stop by for a cool cup of great lemonade!

As the day went on, sales of your lemonade were so good that you soon were running low and had to make more of the wonderful stuff. More lemons, water, and sugar and you were quickly back in business. Of course, it was hard work selling all that lemonade on such a warm day and you had to have a little sampling for yourself, too!

When all of the neighbors had stopped by and quenched their thirst, sales of lemonade began to dwindle and you soon became bored of just sitting there with nothing happening. It was then time to close down your lemonade enterprise and count your profits! What a great lesson in economics this was for us as children!

Now as adults, we have anew opportunity to spread our wings as an entrepreneur and to provide for an early retirement from the workaday world. We have accumulated a lot of knowledge during our life and now is the time to use it wisely. Whether we have been in academia, commerce, industry, homemaking, or one of the professions, theres a good chance that each of us possesses specific knowledge of a subject that few others enjoy. It could be that you know a specific process that you learned in your skill or that you enjoy an interest in certain animals or causes. Whatever it is, each of us tend to be passionate about some little topic or niche.

Like the Lemonade Stand that you had as a kid, why not setup an Information Stand on the internet to share your niche information with others who want to learn about it? You can be a great contributor to society and can earn some extra income along the way. Unlike your Lemonade business, you will not have to buy any inventory  you already possess all that you need to get started! All you will need to do is to package your knowledge to transfer it (like a book, tape, CD or video). Once you have done that, it is a simple matter to establish a place to sell it on the internet.

A simple webpage on the World Wide Web may be all that you need for your information stand. It is a simple matter to do this yourself or, if you are not so technically inclined, this can be done for less than $100. The benefits of this presence on the Internet are many. Most importantly, your webpage makes your information available to the thousands of people who are searching for information on your subject each day. In fact, the traffic never stops, day and night. People are on the Internet 24 hours per day and 7 days per week from all over the world, so your little information store never closes down. Once your webpage is established and the knowledge of its existence is picked up by the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN, there will likely be a steady stream of visitors to your webpage or Information Stand.

Your webpage can advertise your information product(s), charge customers credit cards and deliver your information products electronically. In fact, once you have your Information Stand setup and refined, you can sit back and watch the results.
